Adam Klingher

Adam Klingher is responsible for acquisitions and administration at GBP and has been involved in the ownership and financing of apartment properties for more than 40 years. His career began by working on his family-owned apartment properties, then doing analysis for a major insurance company lender in the 1980s and selling multifamily in the aftermath of the savings and loan crisis. In the ’90s, Adam helped develop Freddie Mac’s modern multifamily lending platform and financed various apartment properties through the 2000s and into the Great Recession. After the Great Recession, Adam started buying and syndicating apartment properties. He has sponsored real estate syndications of more than 20 apartment projects, totaling more than 2,500 units.

Adam has worked for several major apartment lenders in loan origination, underwriting, and management. These companies include CNA Insurance, Freddie Mac, GMAC Commercial Mortgage, and WaMu/JPMorgan Chase. He has been responsible for more than $10 billion in multifamily financing.

Adam holds an MBA in accounting and finance from the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis and a B.A. in history from Lake Forest College. He currently lives with his wife, Amy, and dog, Lily, in Evanston, Illinois.

Joseph Markech

Joseph Markech is responsible for partner relations and asset management at GBP and is also a member of the investment committee that reviews and qualifies investment opportunities as they arise. Involved in commercial real estate for more than 35 years, Joseph has acquired, disposed, managed, and originated loans throughout the United States in all commercial property asset types. He worked in asset management during the savings and loan crisis, and underwrote loans throughout the 1990s, including the Russian financial crisis. Since 2005, he has originated multifamily loans for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), life insurance companies, commercial mortgage-based securities (CMBS), and commercial banks.

Joseph holds an MBA from the University of Iowa and a B.A. in economics and marketing from St. Ambrose University.
